Monday night’s Glasgow Cup final between Celtic and Rangers was marred as rival fans threw flares and threw seats onto the pitch.
6,000 people were at Firhill to watch Rangers under 17’s win 3-2, in the first Old Firm meeting since Rangers’ demotion to the Third Division.
Kick-off was delayed by five minutes due to safety reasons, as thick smoke from flares covered the pitch, leaving players unable to see.
The trouble continued throughout the match as a small minority of fans from both teams ripped up seats before throwing them onto the pitch.
Two 17-year-old boys were arrested inside the ground over an alleged pitch invasion and a 19-year-old man was arrested outside the stadium in connection with a minor assault.
Police are currently monitoring CCTV footage.
This is not the first time there has been trouble amongst Old Firm fans at youth games, as similar instances were seen at last years under 20’s youth cup final at Hampden.
