Former MSP Tommy Sheridan is to lead Scotland’s campaign against the Bedroom Tax.
Elected chairman of the All Scotland Anti-Bedroom Tax Federation Sheridan vows to oppose evictions of those who can’t pay the tax which forces people on benefits to pay more money if they have an extra bedroom in their home.
A mass rally is to be organised in Glasgow on June 1 by Sheridan who led Scotland’s fight against the Poll Tax over 20 years ago.
He said that people need support when faced with the problem of eviction .
This will be Sheridan’s first major move in politics since he was released from jail where he spent time for a perjury conviction.
