River Clyde Walkway Collapses

By Lorne Gillies

A walkway beside the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow has collapsed into the River Clyde.

Structure on the wall beside the Kingston Bridge came loose over the past few days and was soon cornered off by Glasgow City Council.

Residents informed the council of loose cobbles in the walkway shortly before it collapsed on Wednesday evening (27 February 2013).

Glasgow City Council are working to get the bridge reconstructed with the help of Clydport, who are responsible for maintaining the walkpath.
